Information About

Scott Reeder

This article relates to the bassist Scott Reeder of Kyuss fame. For the drummer please see Scott Reeder (drummer) .

Scott Reeder is the Left-handed Bass player formerly of the Stoner Rock band Kyuss . He joined Kyuss after the departure of Nick Oliveri and remained there until the band went on indefinite hiatus in October 1995. Reeder reunited with former Kyuss singer John Garcia to form Unida , a stoner rock band which only released one full-length album before running into legal problems.

In 1996, Reeder just missed becomming the new bass player for the popular band Tool , the reason rumoured to be his preference of finger-style bass playing, instead of a pick-style, which would be more appropriate for that band.

In 2002, Reeder was among eight bassists, including Robert Trujillo and Pepper Keenan , to audition for Metallica after Jason Newsted left the band. Short excerpts from Reeder's meeting with Metallica can be seen in the documentary '' Some Kind Of Monster ''.

Reeder handled production and bass duties for the band Bütcher and appeared on their album ''Auricle'' in 2005. He left the band in October of 2006.

In 2006, Reeder released his first solo album '' TunnelVision Brilliance '' on which he wrote and performed all tracks by himself.
