Rory Kinnear




Rory Kinnear (born 17 February 1978 ) is an English actor.

Kinnear has found particular acclaim for his performances in Phyllida Lloyd's production of '' Mary Stuart '' and as the outrageous Sir Foppling Flutter in '' The Man Of Mode '' at the National Theatre .

He has twice been nominated for the Ian Charles Award : in 2004 for ''The Taming of the Shrew'', in 2006 for ''Mary Stuart''.

He will next appear in '' Philistines '' at the National Theatre.

Notable television roles include ''Mansfield Park'' (2007) , ''Five Days'' (2007), '' Silent Witness '' (2005), ''Judas'' (2004), '' The Second Coming (2003) '', and '' Ultimate Force '' (2002) and '' Judge John Deed '' (2001).

BACKGROUND

Kinnear is the son of actor Roy Kinnear and actress Carmel Cryan . He has a sister, Kirsty. He is the god-son of the late Michael Williams .

He was educated at St Paul's School (London) , read English at Balliol College, Oxford and then studied acting at LAMDA .
