Radikal is a daily Turkish Language newspaper, published in Istanbul . It has been published since 1996 on behalf of Doğan Media Group (Doğan Medya Grubu), a large publishing and communications firm owned by Aydın Doğan in Turkey . Radikal, unlike many daily newspapers in Turkey, does not seem to support a certain political party. However, it is generally considered as a left-wing (democratic socialist) newspaper. Ironically, compared to , son of Taha Akyol , also write for Radikal. In 2007, Orhan Pamuk and Sezen Aksu became Radikal's temporary Editor-in-chief on January 9th and 14th, respectively. Radikal does not have a wide circulation (by January 2007, ranks 24th with ~37,000 copieshttp://www.medyatava.com/tiraj.asp), but it occupies a significant place in Turkish Politics and culture. The U.S. Embassy in Ankara , for example, also receives a daily copy.
