A quay, pronounced 'kay', 'key' or 'kway', is a Wharf or bank where Ship s and other vessels are loaded. A quay is constructed parallel to the bank of a waterway. The word is commonly used in United Kingdom , Ireland , Canada and Australia . Its French Language counterpart ''Quai'' is common in francophone countries, but it is rather rare in everyday usage elsewhere. |
