Patrick Lachman (b. March 30 , 1970 ) was the guitarist of the band Diesel Machine from 1996 to 2001), before joining the solo band from (at that time former) Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford , titled Halford . After the release of Halford's debut album ''Resurrection'', Lachman's other band Diesel Machine got the chance to release their own debut album, ''Torture Test'', which had already been recorded several years earlier.

With Halford he released a live album in 2001, ''Live Insurrection'', and another studio album in 2002, ''Crucible''. 2003 saw the release of a Halford EP called ''Fourging The Furnace'', but in that year Rob Halford also announced he would return to Judas Priest. This looked like the end of the Halford band, so Patrick joined with former Pantera guitarist Diamond Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott alongside his brother and drummer Vincent Vinnie Paul Abbott in a new band called Damageplan , as their vocalist. Their debut album ''New Found Power'' was released in 2004. The band had recorded several songs for a second album, when on December 8 2004 during a Damageplan show, the band came to an end when Darrell was fatally wounded on stage by 25 year old Nathan Gale (who died shortly after when a police officer shot him.) Lachman was injured in his leg, but has recovered since. He now sings in a new band called The Mercy Clinic with
guitarists Brian Harrah (Professional Murder Music) and Josh Stinson (Drist), bassist Steed Najera (Triple Seven), and drummer Bevan Davies (Danzig, Comes With The Fall, Jerry Cantrell). In recent times, he has also been seen performing with Alice In Chains , filling in for their late lead singer Layne Staley . The band had talked about recruiting him as a full-time member.

He filled in for Killswitch Engage 's guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz on the band's North American tour.http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=67450
He also filled in for Adam Dutkiewicz at Download Festival 2007.
