Othello (オセロ, ''osero''), is a female Japan ese Comedy duo (''kombi'') who, once famous for their Manzai act, are now both popular Television talents and appear frequently on Japanese Variety Show s. The two comedians, Tomoko Nakajima (中島 知子, born on 26 August, 1971), and Nahomi Matsushima (松嶋 尚美, born on 2 December, 1971) are sometimes known as black and white othello, respectively, because Nakajima has a much darker skin than Matsushima. According to the Japanese Othello page, their duo name comes not only from their contrasting complexions. but also their personalities, with Nakajima having the more darker, scheming role, while Matsushima plays the innocent Boke role in the Manzai pattern.
