Orsinian Tales




The setting is a Fictional Central Europe an country, at different periods in time ranging from the Middle Ages to the 1960s.

The cycle was extended by the Borges -like story "Two Delays on the Northern Line" (1979), anthologised in '' The Compass Rose '' (1982); and "Unlocking the Air" (1990), anthologised in '' Unlocking The Air And Other Stories '' (1996), which is set at the time of the downfall of Communism in Orsinia – and the rest of Eastern Europe – in the winter of 1989. In addition, Le Guin's novel '' Malafrena '' is set in the Orsinia of the 1820s.
