Nicole Monique Wray (born July 1 , 1981 ) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, Actress , dancer, Rapper and model. Wray first rose to fame when she sang on rapper and music producer Missy Elliott 's debut album. After working in the studio with Brian Alexander Morgan , Mocha , Missy Elliott , Suga Mike, and other producers, Wray released her debut album, '' Make It Hot '', in 1998. The album became one of the biggest selling albums of the year. It contained the singles " Make It Hot ," "I Can't See," and " Eyes Better Not Wander ." EARLY LIFE Wray is the second oldest of three children to Kenneth and Debra Wray. She was born in California and raised in Portsmouth , Virginia . She has a younger sister, Myrtis Wray, and an older brother, Kenny Wray. At the age of seventeen, Wray met the rapper Missy Elliott . She sang for Elliott and was invited to join her in the music business. MUSIC CAREER Wray became close friends with Missy Elliott and Aleesha Rivers. In 1997, Nicole appeared on Elliott's first album, '' Supa Dupa Fly ''. After appearing on the track "Gettaway", Nicole worked with producers including Elliott, Brian Alexander Morgan , and Suga Mike on her first album. ''Make It Hot'' (1998-1999) During the summer of 1998, Nicole released her first album, '' Make It Hot ''. The album entered the Billboard 200 in the top ten. It was certified Platinum after nine months on August 25, 1998. The album's first single, " Make It Hot ", features artists "Mocha and Missy Elliott". It reached No.5 on the U.S charts. Nicole's second single, " I Can't See Version ", hit the Rhythmic Top 40 at No. 36. Later that year, Nicole released a song, "Without You," which appeared on the soundtrack to the film '' Why Do Fools Fall In Love ''. In 1999, Nicole released the third single off of her debut album, " Eyes Better Not Wander ", which would peak at No. 71 on the U.S R&B charts. Nicole also appeared on Missy Elliott's second album, '' Da Real World '', on her second single, " All N My Grill ". ''Elektric Blue and Lovechild'' (2000-2005) In 1999, Nicole announced that she would be getting back into the studio to work on her second studio album. In 2000, Nicole finished working and writing the album entitled '' Elektric Blue '' though its release date was pushed to 2001. In 2001, Nicole released the first single from the album, " I'm Lookin' ." In late 2001, Nicole left Elektra Records without releasing the ''Elektric Blue'' album. Shortly after Nicole's departure from Elektra Records and The Goldmind Inc. , Nicole and Elliott ended their business relationship on good terms. When ''Elektric Blue'' became a unreleased album, the '' Elektric Blue Sampler '' was released. Nicole recorded a song in 2003 entitled "I Wanna Kiss You," which appeared on the soundtrack to the film '' Love Don't Cost A Thing ''. In 2004, Nicole released the single "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and signed to Roc-A-Fella Records . Nicole was placed with the Dame Dash Music Group . From mid-2004 to early-2005, Nicole worked on an album '' Lovechild ,'' which include songs like " If I Was Your Girlfriend ", " Can't Get Out Of The Game ", and " Regrets ". In 2005, Nicole left the Dame Dash Group without releasing the album ''Lovechild''. Later that year, '' Lovechild '' was leaked on the internet. ''Not Yet Titled'' (2006-Present) Wray has been working on her fourth studio album since 2006. It has been confirmed on her MySpace page that she signed to a new record company, a.Fam Entertainment Inc. It was also confirmed that Nicole would be releasing a new album '' Not Yet Titled ''. On July 16, 2007, Nicole released her new mixtape, '' Nicole Wray Starring In InDepenDance Day; Vol.1 The Takeover ''. FILM CAREER Nicole has made appearances on television shows and movies. She appeared on the series '' Family Matters '' as one of Missy Elliott 's background dancers. She also appeared on the show '' The Wayans Bros. ''. And in 2005, Nicole appeared in the film '' State Property 2 ''. She appeared in the bar. Her song "Lollipop" was being played in the background. Film

OTHER ACTIVITIES AND VENTURES In 2005, Nicole co-wrote a song called "Rich Girls" which appeared on Lil' Nikki's album ''The Prelimanaries''. In November 2006, Nicole appeared at the Living Legends Foundation. While there, she performed the National Anthem.
