New York State Route 421 is a short State Highway in the northwestern Adirondacks in New York , connecting NY 30 to Horseshoe Lake in southeastern St. Lawrence County . A narrow, two-laned highway, NY 421 begins at a dead-end parking area adjacent to the lake. The road is rough in parts and lacks a shoulder at most points. The route offers access to several picnic and snowmobile areas. A Dead-end sign is posted immediately off NY 30, the only route with which it intersects. The entire road is located in the town of Piercefield , although that name is not posted on NY 421. From NY 30, the first 1.6 mile segment is known as Paradise Point Road, offering access to private residences. MAJOR INTERSECTIONS
