Mick Thomas grew up in Geelong, Australia . He played in bush bands in his youth, later played with Where's Wolfgang and other bands. In 1985 he went on to form the iconic Australian folk/rock group Weddings Parties Anything . Following the demise of WPA in 1999, Mick embarked on a solo career and eventually settled with a new band "The Sure Thing" which went through many different lineups. About this time he also started Croxton Records with friend Nick Corr . Mick has written or co-written plays Over In The West and The Tank and is an accomplished music producer and engineer. He has been a mentor for many in the Australian music scene, especially in Melbourne. He is often rated with Paul Kelly as one of Australia's greatest songwriters. EXTERNAL LINKS |
