Michael Golden is an American comic book artist. Golden first rose to prominence in the late 1970s with Marvel Comics ' '' Micronauts '' series. His very distinctive style combined a rounded, almost three dimensional approach as well as realistic lighting effects and a strong grasp of facial expressions, design and anatomy. Golden's grasp of realism is further demonstrated in his attention to detail with weapons, architecture, vehicles, dinosaurs and just about anything else, as highlighted especially by his work on '' The 'Nam '' and his covers for ''The Punisher'' and the numerous ''Jurassic Park'' comics. His work was prominent on a number of Marvel comic book covers throughout the late 1970s and 1980s on titles such as '''' and the '' Howard The Duck '' black & white magazine. His take on it was a group of Marvel's characters in a walk-across the print in a bit of confusion and soon-to-be explosive melee. This print was first available as a mail-away offer (for 50cents) found in many comics in the early 1980's. The print came folded (2 folds) along with promotional materials from other publishers and outlets. The print was later made available in the late 1990's as a prestige edition litho with all new computerized coloring and effects. Portfolio
