The Kwantlen First Nation are a Stóːlō people living in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia , Canada . They traditionally speak the Upriver dialect of Halkomelem , one of the Salishan family of languages of the Coast Salish peoples. The nation is made up of 6 reserves, including four Langley/Kwantlen reserves, Whonnock IR #1 and McMillan Island IR #6, though the main community is located on but moved east to control trade when Fort Langley was established in the 19th century.
