The Maya Mountains are a Mountain Range in Belize and eastern Guatemala . The tallest mountain is Victoria Peak at 3,675 Feet (1,120 M ). The peak is located about 256 km (160 mi) south of Belmopan , Belize's capital. The Maya Mountains and associated foothills contain a number of important Maya n Ruin s and natural areas; the most eminent Nature Reserve within the range is the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary . |
