Matthew Twining (born September 23 , 1981 in La Jolla, California ) is an American Actor . He has a brother named Gabe. He got his acting start in two of David DeCoteau 's Homoerotic Horror films. The first was a lead role in the film '' The Frightening '' ( 2002 ) and the second in a supporting role in the film '' Leeches! '' (2003). Twining is best known for playing River Carpenter on the daytime Soap Opera '' One Life To Live '' from 2003 until 2004 .
