Matlock Bath railway station is a Railway Station serving the village of Matlock Bath in Derbyshire , England . The station is located on the Derwent Valley Line 26 km (16¼ miles) of north Derby towards Matlock .

Opened by the Manchester, Buxton, Matlock And Midlands Junction Railway in 1849 it is conveniently located in the centre of the village. The station buildings are in unusual 'chalet' style, inspired by the romantic notion that the resort was England's '' Little Switzerland ''.

The station is served by Central Trains , who operated local services from Derby to Matlock. Services are formed using Diesel Multiple Unit s of Classes 150 , 153 , 156 , 158 or 170 .

For journeys beginning at Matlock Bath, tickets may be bought on the train for any destination in the country. (From Derby, tickets must be bought at the ticket office) Journey time to Derby is approximately 29 minutes.
