The Master's College is a non-denominational Christian Liberal Arts College located in Santa Clarita , California , USA . It was founded in 1927 as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary and initiated a separate undergraduate liberal arts program in 1946 , when the Seminary became a Graduate School . The school moved from its original location in downtown Los Angeles to the Placerita Canyon area of Newhall, California , in 1961 . The Seminary program separated from the undergraduate program in 1974 and relocated to Tacoma, Washington. The college took its current name in 1985 when Dr. John R. Dunkin stepped down as president after 25 years of leadership and John MacArthur, Jr. , pastor of Grace Community Church of Sun Valley, California , became the fifth president. The affiliated Master's Seminary is located on the church campus, 17 miles south of the college.

The (preliminary) fall 2006 enrollment on the campus was 1,198, consisting of 952 in the traditional undergraduate programs, 92 students in graduate programs, and 154 students in the three degree-completion programs.

In the 2006-07 edition of U.S. News & World Report of America’s Best Colleges, The Master’s College is Ranked Second (2nd) In The West as Best Comprehensive Colleges—Bachelor’s.
