Taluka in
Nashik District in
Maharashtra State of
India . It is the third largest town in Nashik district, with a population of approximately 100,000.
Manmad houses offices of Food Corporation of India,
Bharat Petroleum ,
Railway Junction and
Indian Oil . There is also a
Sikh Gurudwara , which is the third Gurudwara to be constructed in India. Manmad is also one of the largest markets for onion producing farmers after Lasalgaon. Its Central Railway Engineering workshop, which constructs and maintains railway bridges for central railways, completed 100 years of operation December 2005. Many of the farmers from nearby villages sell their farm produce in Manmad to wholesale traders, who in turn sell it in
Mumbai .
Manmad is a major junction on indian railways.There are four lines running out of Manmad.One to
Bhusawal , one to
Daund ,one to
Aurangabad and most important one to
Mumbai .
