Long-view




Long-View (hyphen inserted due to a clash with the American Bluegrass group named Longview ) are an Indie Rock band hailing from Winchester , Manchester and Hull , England .

Its members are German electro-pop svengali Ulrich Schnauss, chief songwriter Rob McVey, guitar player Doug Morch, bass player Aidan Banks, and drummer Matt Dabbs.

The band formed in Manchester in 2002 and built its reputation with several appearances at the Night And Day Cafe . Long-View subsequently signed to 14th Floor Recordings.

Their debut album, '' Mercury '', was released in July 2003. Several singles were released from the album including their best known song, 'Further', often misunderstood as a Christian rock anthem. Notable other releases include a cover of Depeche Mode's 'Stripped' which was only available as a digital download or on limited edition vinyl, and 'In a Dream'.

Although the band has played a handful of concerts during 2007, a second album is yet to appear. Titles of songs played live or uploaded to the internet since Mercury include: 'Elysian Fields,' 'Why,' 'Signals,' 'Drive Faster,' Run off the Tracks,' and 'Happiness in Loneliness'. The demos released thus far were recorded in studios at London Bridge, Seattle and at Rob's flat in Manchester.
