Kim Poirier (born February 6 , 1980 in Drummondville , Quebec ) is a Canadian TV and movie Actress and television host. She is the daughter of actress/model Carol Laquerre who was Miss Toronto in 1976. When she was younger she did catalogue modelling and commercials for Aquafresh, Ontario Tourism, Ontario Place, b'ell Canada, Chocolate Turtles, Old El Paso, Eaton's Centre, Pizza Pizza and Ford. She was the host of '', which specializes in science fiction. She also did 1-2 minute segments on Drive-In Classics every Saturday before the Horror Marathon and did the voiceovers for the promos of Steamy Windshields from 2005 until 2007. She co-hosted the 05 Spaceys (2005), 06 Spaceys (2006) and 07 Spaceys (2007) with Jonathan Llyr and Natasha Eloi . She was also the host of SPACE show '' Space Top 10 Countdown ''. She has starred in several movies including '' (2007). She also appeared in the unaired pilot A Bachelor's Guide To Seduction In The Kitchen (2000) as Linda. It was shot for Arcadia Entertainment however it wasn't picked up, though some European countries expressed interest in it. She also appeared as Linda in the short film The Archer (2005) (6 minutes approx.) which was directed by John Palmer and produced by the Penney brothers, it also starred Anthony Furey and Dov Tiefenbach. As a child growing up in Toronto , Ontario , she worked in modeling and TV commercials, moving into TV and film acting in adulthood. She is the international leader of Sadhana at The Institute of Yoga Therapy. She also organized a workshop called The Yoga Theatre Lab, which combines the yogic technique with acting. She has been trained by John Riven (Meisner Technique), Rae Ellen Bodie (Voice Work), Jazz Be Nimble (Jazz, Tap, Ballet (Competitive Dance)), Barbara Deutsch (Actor's Workshop), David Rottenberg (On Camera Acting - Group Classes), Bruce Clayton (On Camera Acting - Group Classes), Francois Grise (Voice Work), Elaine Overholt (Singing and Voice) and Valerie Gellar (On Air Radio and Television - Group Seminar). Can do the following dialects - Fluent French (Canadian/European), Stoneland English, Cockney, Irish and Southern U.S. She enjoys watching movies, writing, meditating and jogging. In September 2006, she signed up with King Talent Inc. In November 2006, director George Miller was so charmed by Kim Poirier during an interview on HypaSpace, he got Warner Bros to contact her producer at Space and asked her to write a blurb for a TV show discussing movies of the week and this time it was about 'Happy Feet'. She accepted the offer. Her official website was also redesigned and launched with a new link. In January 2007 she did a group class stage workshop with Tom Todoroff and it was her first time on stage. She said it has made her want to do some theater acting. In February 2007 she wrote an anecdote for the book "Science Fiction Television Series 1990-2004" about her role on . She announced that she'll be appearing on Lloyd Vaughan's show called Intuitive Security For Women (directed by Sanjay Burman) in September (although filming was in February). She also got a part in the musical The Pirates Of Penzance but she had to drop out after getting too busy. She also announced that she'll be part of Paradise Falls third season. She did a photoshoot for local magazine "Our Neighbourhood". In March 2007 she landed a lead role in a Lifetime movie called How I Married My High School Crush in which David Winkler is directing and Katee Sackhoff will star in as her best friend.
