The station is on the
Bexleyheath Line , and was one of the original stations opened on
1 May 1895 . The original station buildings have been replaced with more modern structures. On the west of the station is the short Kidbrooke Tunnel.
A goods yard at the station was closed, along with those at
Eltham Well Hall and
Bexleyheath stations, on

Trains run east to
Dartford (with a few extended to
Gravesend or the
Medway Towns , and a few rush-hour trains diverted to
Slade Green ), and west terminating at
Charing Cross ,
Victoria or
Cannon Street . The daytime service is one train every half an hour to both Charing Cross and Victoria, with the exception of a few trains per day, at peak times, to Cannon Street. This equates to a 15 minute frequency as far west as
Lewisham .
On the north side of the station is a bus turning and waiting area from which run the 178 and B16 services.
