The pumpwell circle on the NH-17, is the starting point of NH-48, the national highway connecting Mangalore & Bangalore . The Father Muller's Hospital is one of the famous hospitals in coastal Karnataka. Its the only hospital providing treatment to mental patients in the whole of coastal Karnataka. The Father Muller's hospital campus also houses a medical college, homeopathy college & nursing college. Kankanadi is also the starting point for some of the city buses & shuttle buses.
