Before October 2001 , Fox Kids was a 50-50 joint venture between News Corporation and Haim Saban . The ABC Family Channel was at that point known as the Fox Family Channel, and all the channels now branded Jetix were called Fox Kids. Fox Kids itself had been founded in as a merger between the US Fox Children's Entertainment and Haim Saban's Saban Entertainment . In October 2001, Saban and News Corp sold the group to The Walt Disney Company. The brand announced the change of name to Jetix in January 2004 .

Until 2002 , the brand had the rights to the children's programming slot on the Fox Broadcasting Company television network, however after the sale, that slot was sold to 4Kids Entertainment . The slot, initially known as the "FoxBox" is now named 4Kids TV . However some Jetix programs are broadcast on the ABC television network, under the ABC Kids brand. As of 2007, however, the only Jetix show to air on ABC Kids is the '' Power Rangers ''.

Notably, all shows produced before the sale to Disney in 2002 (including the pre-2002 '' Digimon '' and ''Power Rangers'' shows) still have the Saban and Fox Children's Productions logos (one example is '' The Tick '' which still has the latter logo). In Europe most old Fox Kids shows retain their original Saban and Fox logos, but the Buena Vista International logo is put after them (although, very often when such a show is aired on Jetix's European channels, the film stops right before it).
