The racial makeup of the county was 42.09% White , 56.28% Black or African American , 0.12% Native American , 0.16% Asian , 0.01% Pacific Islander , 0.83% from Other Races , and 0.52% from two or more races. 1.50% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
