Elektra Records in the US and Canada until
1995 when distribution switched to
PolyGram (which became

Hollywood Records also releases many
Film Soundtracks from films made by Disney or Disney-owned film studios.
Together with
Lyric Street Records ,
Mammoth Records and
Walt Disney Records , it is currently part of the
Buena Vista Music Group .
In the United Kingdom and Australia, Hollywood Records currently releases acts such as
Hilary Duff and
Jesse McCartney through the
Angel Records label of
EMI , however in the past it has been distributed 'independently' through
Edel Records for
Duran Duran 's
Pop Trash album and had a sub-label called
Tr1be in the early 1990s.

- --- is currently General Manager of Hollywood Records . Before joining MCA, Abbey was General Manager at Maverick Records . The jewel in his crown was Alanis Morissette , whom he developed and marketed into a worldwide celebrity.
Before launching his career within labels, Abbey was employed by MTV as its Senior Vice President of Music & Talent. In his current role, Abbey has worked to create and cultivate a roster of pop and rock stars. In July 2006, former executive assistant Gina Wagschal Izad filed a lawsuit accusing Konowitch of sexual harassment. Hollywood Reporter article, July 31 2006

- In the late 90's, Hollywood Records supported Insane Clown Posse . Hollywood produced their 4th main album, The Great Milenko . But soon dropped the rap act due to controversy over Hollywoods pulling of The Great Milenko the day it hit shelves, and concerned parents making Insane Clown Posse pull three songs off of the final track listing.
