Henry E. Rohlsen Airport is a public Airport located six miles (10 Km ) southwest of Christiansted on the island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands .

It is a small international Airport that is a mini center of Caribbean flights. The airport, which used to be one of the hubs for Aero Virgin Islands back in the 1970s and 1980s , has the capability to receive jets up to the size of the Boeing 747 s. It was formerly known as '' Alexander Hamilton International Airport''.


FACILITIES AND AIRCRAFT

Henry E. Rohlsen Airport covers an area of 1,455 Acre s (589 Ha ) which contains one asphalt Runway (10/28): 10,004 x 150 ft. (3,049 x 46 m). For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2005, the airport had 14,345 aircraft operations, an average of 39 per day: 62% air taxi (8,929), 31% general aviation (4,460), 6% scheduled commercial (843) and 1% military (113). In the same period, there were also 30 aircraft based at this airport, including 15 multi-engines, 11 single-engines, two jets, and two military.
