Hatton, Sri Lanka




Hatton is a small town in the Nuwara-Eliya District , Central Province of Sri Lanka , a notable centre of Ceylon Tea plantations and industry. Hatton, which is locally administered by Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council, had 14,255 in population according to the census carried out in 2001.

It is notable that companies operating island-wide like Hatton National Bank and Brown & Co. Ltd. were founded in Hatton.

Located in the Colombo - Badulla railway line, and Avissawella - Nuware Eliya main Road (A7) the town serves as a gateway to Adam's Peak pilgrims, Nuwara Eliya and tourists.
