Gregory R. Ball (born September 16, 1977) is the representative for the 99th District in the State Assembly . Ball defeated 12-year incumbent Willis Stephens, Jr. in a Republican Primary in September 2006 taking 71% of the vote. Ball is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a resident of Carmel . POLITICAL CAREER AND BACKGROUND Assemblyman Ball represents the 99th District of Patterson , Mahopac , Carmel , Southeast , Putnam Lake and Brewster , in Putnam County ; Yorktown , Lake Mohegan , Somers , and North Salem in Westchester County ; and Pawling in Duchess County . George Pataki represented the seat from 1985 to 1992. Before his election to the State Assembly, Ball was the Vice President of Exceed International, a real estate development company. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and subsequently served as a Protocol Officer to the Secretary Of The Air Force and the Air Force Chief Of Staff . Ball also interned in the White House Drug Policy Office during the term of President Bill Clinton . He was honorably separated from active duty in January of 2005 with the rank of Captain and remains in the U.S. Air Force Ready Reserve to this day. In June, 2007, the Washington Post ran an article in which evidence was given that Ball had funneled money raised at a charity polo match toward his Assembly campaign fund {Link without Title} .
