Gregory Scott Ayres (born December 7 , 1968 in Richmond, Virginia ) is an American Voice Actor best-known for voicing anime characters. As the story goes, this Texas Voice Actor (VA) started out as a Fanboy of Anime who was mentioned to ADV film directors, as further explained at his biography at AnimeCons.com .

With his constantly color-changing hair, this VA has attended more than eighty Anime Convention s as a guest, and countless others as a fan. Greg Ayres is recognized not only for his Dub work in popular Anime , but also for his multi-talented and charismatic personality at Anime Convention s.

Occasionally his surname is listed as Ayers instead of '''Ayres''', however this spelling is incorrect as his legal name is "Gregory Ayres".

He is currently involved as a DJ in a techno/dance project called AniRave {Link without Title} , along with British DJs Geoff Pinckney (lately of Mesh ) and Kevin Tye, as well as Arizona DJ Ray Ray.

  • Ayres has a penchant for playing younger male characters such as Kaworu Nagisa in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pope Alessandro in Trinity Blood and Negi Springfield in Negima .

  • Ayres has been the English dub counterpart of Akira Ishida three times; both of them played Kaworu in Evangelion, Chrono in Chrono Crusade, and Satoshi Hiwatari in D.N.Angel. Additionally, he has been the English dub counterpart of Kappei Yamaguchi three times as well; they both voiced Taro Yamada in Sister Princess, Crane Bahnsteik a.k.a The White Prince in Cyber Team in Akihabara, and Shinpachi Nagakura in Peacemaker.

  • Ayres' older brother, Christopher Ayres , is also a voice actor.

  • Ayres was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy for both Nerima Daikon Brothers and Negima at the 1st American Anime Awards.
