GoJet Airlines is an American regional Airline based in St Louis , Missouri , USA . It operates commuter feeder services under the United Express name. Its main base is Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport with hubs at O'Hare International Airport , Denver International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport .1 HISTORY The airline was established in late 2004 by the current owners of Trans States Airlines . GoJet was supposed to start on 1 August 2005 , but began scheduled passenger services on 4 October 2005 instead. The airline received its initial Air Carrier Operating Certificate in September of 2005. The initial fleet consists of fifteen 66-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets. The airline is wholly owned by Trans States Holdings and has 400 employees (at March 2007 ). CONTROVERSY The airline has come under heavy fire from Trans States pilots unionized by the Air Line Pilots Association. GoJet is accused of being an "alter-ego" airline created to circumvent union contracts, work rules, pay and scope clauses. Many of the union leaders for Trans States were severely disciplined and improperly fired when protesting its method of inception, and some pilots have gone so far as to set up a Web site, "GoJetPilots.com" to blacklist employees of the new airline who try to fly in the jumpseat on flights operated by union pilots. However, the GoJet pilots have voted to have Teamsters represent them. The author(s) of the "GoJetPilots.com" website, as of 25 May 2006, have yet issued a statement regarding this. However as of 30 July 2006, it appears that the site has been removed. FLEET The GoJet Airlines fleet includes the following aircraft (at March 2007) : The airline has taken options on 35 more CRJ-700s. EXTERNAL LINKS REFERENCES |
