HISTORY

Glasgow has had many clubs over the years including Glasgow Cowal and Glasgow Skye whose name reflected the Highland area from which they drew their players. However, Glasgow Mid Argyll now draws its players from throughout Scotland. GMA was established in 1928 and won the Camanachd Cup for the first and only time in 1973 .

The Club are currently looking to regain National league status.

The women's team won the women's Camanachd Cup, the Valerie Fraser trophy in 2006 for the first time but lost out on winning the national league title to Glengarry.

In one of the most legendary team talks in shinty history Donnie McNiven inspired the GMA team prior to a fixture against Kyles Athletic in 1993 with his Biscuit Stealer speech. 'When we were kids in Tighnabruich and there was a plate of biscuits we wouldn't ask if we could have a biscuit we would just take the biscuit! We were known as the biscuit thiefs! And if you lot want to win today that's what you have to do! You have to be biscuit thiefs!'
