CHARACTERISTICS

Funeral Doom is slower and heavier than most other doom metal subgenres (The word funeral in funeral doom comes from the fact that the music moves along at the pace of a funeral marchhttp://www.doom-metal.com/faq.html#18). Funeral Doom bands also incorporate influences from Ambient Music to create a sound that is not only distorted and gloomy, but also dreamy. The vocals consist of distorted Growls and are used to add texture to the music.
