Fran Allison ( 20 November 1907 – 13 June 1989 ) was a television comedian and singer. She is best known for her starring role in the puppet show '' Kukla, Fran And Ollie '', which ran from 1947-57, returning to the air regularly until the mid 1980s. The trio also hosted ''The CBS Children's Film Festival '', introducing international children's films in the late 60s and 70s. Allison was born in La Porte City, Iowa . Earlier in her career she was a regular performer on '' The Breakfast Club '', a popular Old-time Radio program, on which she portrayed "Aunt Fanny", a gossipy small-town spinster. Allison was a 1927 graduate of Coe College and she began her broadcasting career at WMT in Cedar Rapids, Iowa . Fran Allison died from Myelodysplasia at the age of 81. EXTERNAL LINKS
