Fordham Road is a major shopping hub in New York City, home to such stores as the Gap, Conway, Duane Reade, Rite Aid and Dr. Jay's. It also has a wide variety of less famous but very fashionable stores like Rush, Energy, Sammys, Bon Bini, Pretty Girl and Jacklyns. FORDHAM IN POPULAR CULTURE The Fordham neighborhood was featured in the film, '' A Bronx Tale '' (though the actual filming location was Astoria, Queens ). The 1979 coming-of-age movie The Wanderers was also filmed in Fordham and adjacent neighborhoods. Fordham has been the setting of several novels, including '' The Old Neighborhood '' by Avery Corman and the Richard Price novel that the basis for the movie The Wanderers. Fordham University has also served as a filming location in several pictures such as '' A Beautiful Mind '', '' The Exorcist '', and '' Quiz Show ''. |
