The is one of several
Short Line railroads run by the
Pinsly Railroad Company . It has connections to
CSX at
Wildwood, Florida ,
Winter Haven, Florida and
West Lake Wales, Florida .
In 2000, the company petitioned the Surface Transportation Board to abandon the entire Leesburg Branch; the
petition was granted on
November 15 ,
2000 . All that remains of the line is approximately 2 miles in Wildwood which is also discussed and abandonment has been approved previously.
The lines were formerly the
CSX Bartow Subdivision (
Winter Haven area), Leesburg, Ocala and Orlando Subdivisions (
Wildwood area), and Lake Wales Subdivision (
Lake Wales area).
