As part of the Flixster registration process, if a user's email address is one of a number of popular services such as Gmail or Yahoo!, the user is asked to provide their account password. If the user does so, Flixster then logs into said account and accesses the user's contact list. The user is then asked to send solicitations to join Flixster to the contacts in his contact list.
