Field Mob is a Hip Hop group from Albany, Georgia . They have recently signed with Ludacris and his Disturbing Tha Peace record label. BIOGRAPHY The pair chose the name "Field Mob" to represent where they used to play tag in a dandelion fielded area, a small area of follow-up that showed the Georgia natives collaborating with Trick Daddy and moving closer to the Outkast-esque production work they hinted at on their debut. The pair of youngsters has shown they can compete with the best Hip Hop has to offer, and they'll do it while wearing their country roots with pride. Smoke of Field Mob is singer Ciara 's cousin. In many of their songs, Smoke refers to himself as "Chevy P (Chevy Pendergrass)", and Shawn Jay often calls himself "The Fleetwood Mack". " Smoke and Shawn Jay appeared on a DVD slaying New York rappers who talk about making a comeback and shutting down the south's dominance of the hip-hop industry. Shawn Jay says he invites any rapper from New York to test his lyrcial skills, the southern rapper states, "This is the south, not no damn westcoast...we'll show you something down here. You don't want no eastcoast versus down south war." In a segment of a southern local dvd taping he challenges rap pioneers Nas and Jay-Z. He talks about how it doesn't matter because the south is too strong for N.Y. rappers. Smoke has recently been released from jail for probation charges, and recently has recorded a song entitled "wax on," with fellow Albany, Georgia native, Big Nod. Rumor has it that Field Mob has parted and have gone their separate ways.Smoke has decided to go the solo route, but none of this has been confirmed. DISCOGRAPHY Albums
