The first and original is the former La Salle or LaSalle Winery. The La Salle Winery was operated in the converted Detoit United Railway (D.U.R.) Powerhouse located in Farmington, Michigan , USA on Grand River Avenue and Orchard Lake Road. This Winery has been defunct for many years. Wine production ceased in the late 1960's and the building was used primarily as a distribution center. The St Julian Winery purchased the Lasalle Brand shortly after. The property and building are owned and operated by the J.S. White family. The White family purchased the shuttered winery building in the mid 1970's. They continue to restore and maintain this historical treasure. Parts of the building have been converted into office and retail space. Each year the building is used by the White's as a popular Haunted House during Halloween . During the Halloween season, it is known as "The Haunted Winery. " More information about The Farmington Winery can be found at www.thehauntedwinery.com and www.farmingtonjunction.com. Another Farmington Winery was located on Farmington, California in San Joaquin County . It was in operation into the 1940s and 1950s. |
