The was the 30th Eurovision Song Contest and was held on May 4 , 1985 in Gothenburg . The presenter was Lill Lindfors , and Norewgian duo Bobbysocks was the winner of this Eurovision with the song " La Det Swinge ".
Each country had a jury who awarded 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for their top ten songs.
The voting itself was exciting, the German favourites looked to be cruising to an early victory. However both Sweden and Norway did their best to keep up and by the time the UK jury delivered their votes (only 1 point for Germany and 12 for Norway), Germany had seen its lead smashed.

The table is ordered by appearance. |
- The presenter, Lill Lindfors , became famous for her " Wardrobe Malfunction ", where her skirt came off after passing through a part of the set. After her embarrassment, she pulled a long white dress out of the top she was wearing. In later interviews, Miss Lindfors admitted that the stunt was planned, but not performed during rehearsals.
- During the contest, just after the incident happened, Terry Wogan (the BBC 's long-time commentator) uttered "They've got a knockabout sense of humour, the Swedes , haven't they?"
- This was Norway's first victory, since first participating in the contest since 1961, and coming in last place at the 1963, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1978, and 1981 contests. The presenter Lill Lindfors commented with "Norway has come last so many times, so I really think you deserve this".
- Yugoslavia withdrew from the competition because it was held on the same date Tito had died five years before.
- For the first time in the contest's history, The Netherlands did not participate in the competition. Public broadcaster NOS decided to withdraw because the show was held on the Dutch Remembrance Day, when the Dutch commemorate the victims of the Second World War.
- Green = Participating countries
- Yellow = Countries who have participated in the past but didn't this year
