En Esch (born ''' Nicklaus Schandelmaier ''') is a contemporary musician and has been a member of the bands KMFDM , Pigface , and Slick Idiot . Sascha Konietzko claims to have given Esch his nickname because the latter felt that his real name was inappropriate for the stage. It is derived from the German pronunciation of the first sounds in his name. Esch left KMFDM in 1999 and formed Slick Idiot with bandmate Günter Schulz . He has since begun working actively with Pigface again, joining them on tour in 2005 . He currently resides in Berlin , working on new Slick Idiot material and collaborating with german avantgarde vocalist Mona Mur for an upcoming release. Esch was supposedly replacing the departed lead singer of tanz metall group Rammstein , but the departure was in fact a hoax.
