EIA is accredited by ANSI to help develop Standards on Electronic Component s, Consumer Electronics , electronic information, Telecommunications , and Internet security. The recommended standards (formerly designated as RS-#, currently EIA-#) are designed so that manufacturer’s equipment can be interchanged and compatible.
