store in Eglinton Station.]] Eglinton is a Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina Line of the Subway System in Toronto , Ontario , Canada . It is at 2190 Yonge Street at Eglinton Avenue West/East, and was opened in 1954 . It has two tracks, north and southbound, and a central platform. It is one of the larger stations on the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and several shops are located inside including Seattle -based Cinnabon , which a commuter can smell its aroma throughout the station. Nearby landmarks include the TVOntario studios, Eglinton Park , the Yonge-Eglinton Centre, and Canada Square. This station is used as a switchover point for subways operators who are coming off or coming on their shift. There are sometimes slight delays at this station as subway operators are being changed. Parts of the Canada Square complex are built directly over the station. North of the station, the line changes to bored tunnel with cut-and-cover tunnel at stations. It swings to the right to run directly under Yonge Street again. Recently, the old bus terminals (where each route had a stand, and there was a blinking light at the bottom of the staircase to signify that one was arriving) was put out of service. A new bus terminal was built with wheelchair access. It is such that all platforms are in a Carbon Monoxide monitored area where the buses come together. Eglinton was the northern terminus of the original 1954 subway line. It is also the only one of the original Yonge stations to retain its Vitrolite tiling scheme. SURFACE CONNECTIONS
