ACADEMIC PROGRAMS The Dedman School of Law offers Juris Doctor , Master Of Laws , and Doctor Of Law degrees. SMU also offers a J.D. through an evening law program. SMU Law has consistently resisted Grade Inflation . Its Median GPA is lower than many "elite" schools, with the median grade being just above a B. RANKINGS AND RECOGNITION SMU Law ranked 43rd among the nation's "Top 100 Law Schools" in the 2007 edition of '' U.S. News & World Report ''. In a survey published by ''D Magazine'' in May 2003 , about one-third of "leading lawyers" in Dallas are SMU Law graduates. In the most current survey, that portion has increased to 40%.
