Deborra-Lee Furness (born 1956 ) is an Australia n Actress , Director and producer.

Furness is a 2000 , and Ava Eliot Jackman, born July 10 2005 .

Furness is also a partner in the production company Jackman founded with John Palermo, Seed Productions .

In 2000 Furness was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role in a Television Drama award at the Australian Film Institute awards (the most prestigious awards body in Australia).

In 2006 the Australian Film Institute nominated Furness as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ray Lawrence's Jindabyne . She lost to Susie Porter for The Caterpillar Wish . Furness won the same award however at the Film Critics Circle Of Australia awards.

Deborra-Lee famously used the books "The Rules: Time-Tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right." to snag Hugh Jackman. Tricks include hardly ever returning his phone calls, ending phone calls after ten minutes, disappearing in between dates, never saying I miss you or I love you first, let him pick the movies and the restaurants you go to.

It further demands, (not suggests), that ‘he’ does all the chasing in the relationship, pays for ‘all’ the dates and that the little lady ends phone conversations before him, and never has sex on the first, second or third date. This, apparently, will leave Mr Right begging for more and pave the way to securing his heart forever with a possible marriage.
