Dale Lavelle Carter (born November 28 , 1969 in Covington, Georgia ) is an American Football Cornerback who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs (1992-1998), Denver Broncos (1999-2000), Minnesota Vikings (2001), New Orleans Saints (2002-2003), and Baltimore Ravens (2003-2005).

Carter was drafted as a cornerback by the Chiefs in the 1992 NFL Draft out of the University Of Tennessee and became a vital part of the Chiefs' defense in the 1990s under Marty Schottenheimer . In 1992 Carter was chosen as the NFL Defensive Rookie Of The Year . His career was magnificent in his earlier years, however, around 1998 , he was suspended from the NFL for violating the Substance Abuse policy. The same happened the next year. After the 2005 Season , he did not return to the Baltimore Ravens and currently remains a free agent As Of The 2006 Season .
