The routine begins somewhat abruptly into mid laughter from the audience as Carlin explains the innocence of farts: "Kids enjoy farts. Farts are funny as Hell... Farts are is a perfect example... looks like he hasn't taken a shit in a month... every four years he gets the runs... he's running again!" Then the routine stops. Parts of this joke also appear on Toledo Window Box as "A Few More Farts". Carlin ponders what would happen to someone who farted for the first time when he was 30. Later in his career, Carlin began to incorporate this joke into his Seven Dirty Words routine as the word fart became one of the additions to the list along with Turd and Twat . Carlin often pondered as to why fuck and fart cannot be said on TV while one can refer to fucking on TV while farts are never referred to. |
