Cranston High School East




Cranston High School East, often called East, Cranston East or abbreviated as CHSE, is a high school located in the central part of Cranston, Rhode Island . The school mascot is the Thunderbolts. The school colors are green and white. Cranston East is a comprehensive high school with over 1700 students in grades 9-12 and 150+ faculty members.
Cranston High School East is comprised of two buildings, the main building and the William A. Briggs Building, the original Cranston High School building. The Briggs building also houses the administrative offices of the Cranston Public Schools.




SPORTS CHAMPIONS

Cranston East is also home to many championship sports teams including the 2005 State Championship football team, the 2001, 2002, and 2003 state championship basketball team (3-peat). One of the longest state basketball streaks in RI history.

Cranston East has won the third-most football state championships in Rhode Island with 15. The Thunderbolts trail only Burrillville (21) and West Warwick (21). In terms of Major State Championships (Division I or the equivalent), Cranston East is tied for second-most titles with La Salle Academy (14), trailing only East Providence (15).
