Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) is an Information Technology (IT) and business services company headquartered in El Segundo, California , USA. CSC's history began in April 1959 when it was founded by Roy Nutt, Fletcher Jones and Bob Patrick, with the goal of providing Programming Tool s such as Assemblers and Compiler s. The company was quickly successful, and went public in 1963 , the first software company to be listed on a national exchange. Since 1968 , it has traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CSC.

"Colossus" is CSC's expert system for assisting adjusters in the evaluation of bodily injury claims (aka "pain and suffering"). Colossus helps adjusters reduce variance in payouts on similar bodily injury claims through objective use of industry standard rules.

CSC reported revenue of $14.616 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.
