Clive Brook




Brook was born in London . He first appeared on stage in 1918 and also in films from 1919. In 1943, he adapted the Victoria comedy "On Approval" by Fredrick Londale and wrote, produced, directed and starred in the film with Beatrice Lillie , Googie Withers and Roland Culver . The costumes were by Cecil Beaton . It was Brooks' crowning achievement.

His daughter, Faith Brook is an actor as was his late son, Lyndon Brook .

Brook was 5' 11" tall and had black hair with brown eyes.
He was the son of an opera singer, a published writer and a violinist.
He distinguished himself in the 1914-1918 war, (The Great War/WW1).
He took to the stage and then to film, first British films then Hollywood.
He was best remembered playing opposite Dietrich in Shanghai Express {Link without Title}
