APPAREL

Citizens of Humanity (or "COH") sells women's and men's jeans, and a knit apparel line of sweaters, shirts and jackets. Their jeans are marked with a version of the signature twisted "H" on their back pockets. Each season, there are special edition pockets that are never reissued, such as "the skull & bunny," "peace," "the eagle." Each season also debuts new and innovative designer washes. COH jeans are manufactured in the USA. Their superior denim is imported from Italy.

Citizens of Humanity's jeans are noted for their universal fit and consistent sizing, based on the blend to maintain shape without sagging.

In regards to fit & sizing, the stretch denim has a tendency to "stretch out" of size during wear, so it's best to buy a size down. Rigid buyers should purchase the size larger and the polyurethane blend remains true-to-size. This is a generalization not taking into account different body types and shapes. In addition, many fans of the line comment on the backside enhancing fit, due to the back pocket placement of most styles. The rise (distance from crotch to top of front waistband as measured along the fly) is generally consistent with each style, starting at 7" to 7.75" as the waistband size increases.

There are seven basic cuts for womens COH jeans:

  • "Kelly" is bootcut

  • "Ingrid" is flare

  • "Faye" is wide leg

  • "Ava" is straight leg

  • "Avedon" is skinny leg

  • "Paley" is ankle length skinny leg

  • "Bardot" is slim fit capri

Because of COH's popularity and premium price tag, manufacturers of cheap imitations have a large circulation on EBay , on unreliable online retailers, at discount jeans parties, and bulk wholesaler listings. These fakes run rampant in the industry and are mostly produced in foreign countries. Fake COH jeans do not fit correctly, have sloppy construction, are made of cheap Denim fabric, and the styling is not correct.

Overall, Citizens of Humanity jeans are famous for staying clean, consistent, and classy.
