Buvaisar Hamidovich Saitiev, also spelled '''Buvaysa Hamidovich Saytiev''', (, 1975 in Khasavyurt , Dagestan ) is a Chechen Wrestler who is a five-time world champion and who won gold medals at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . His younger brother Adam Saitiev , also a wrestler, won gold at the 2000 Summer Olympics . Buvaisar left his home in Khasavyurt in 1992 with an old friend to train in Krasnoyarsk , as the city had one of the most distinguished wrestling training programs in the country, many of whose alumni had competed for the Russian national team. It was soon after graduation that he had become eligible for the national team. Buvaisar won his first gold medal in Atlanta , when he defeated Park Jang-Soon of South Korea in a score of 5-0. He then went undefeated in every major wrestling competition, until he was defeated in a stunning Upset in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney against American Brandon Slay , who was eventually awarded gold. Buvaisar would later go on to secure gold again at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens by defeating Kazakh Gennadiy Laliyev in a score of 7-0. {Link without Title} Buvaisar has been decorated with the Order Of Friendship by the Russian President . He has also been crowned as European champion in 2000 and 2001. He was named the Freestyle Wrestler of the Year by the International Wrestling Federation in 1996 and 1998. Buvaisar has been training in in Beijing . Buvaisar is a supporter and friend of Chechen Warlord -turned- President Ramzan Kadyrov .
